Course
The starting line for both the marathon and the half marathon will be near Admiral Mason Park in Downtown Pensacola, near the intersection of 9th Avenue and Bayfront Parkway.  Marathon runners will complete a second loop of the 13.1 mile course as depicted on the map.  The finish line for both races will be near the intersection of 10th Ave and Romana St., next to the Vietnam Wall Memorial.  Course time limit for the half marathon is 3 hours and 6 hours for the marathon. RACE WEEKEND

The 2010 Marathon will be held on Veteran's Day Weekend in Pensacola;  beginning and ending at Veteran's Park, site of the Vietnam Veterans Wall South, the only (half-size) replica of the National Vietnam War Memorial in Washington D.C. Pensacola's Veteran's Park includes a World War I Memorial, a World War II Memorial, a monument dedicated to the WWII Submarine Lifesaving League, a Korean War Memorial, a Vietnam-era HU-1M Huey helicopter, and a children of Vietnam Veterans memorial.  

Other activities in the area Veteran's Day Weekend include the annual Pensacola Runners Association Veteran's Day Run, and the final Air Show of the season for the Navy's Blue Angels flight demonstration team, a must-see for locals and visitors alike.

Bag Drop

Each race participant will be given an official drop bag and label at packet pickup to be used for clothing and personal belongings at the starting line.  The bag drop tent will be located adjacent to the start line and will accept bags starting at 5:30 am race day. 

Scoring

Both events will be scored using the ChronoTrack D-Tag scoring system.

Aid Stations

Approximately every 2 miles aid stations offer spring water and carbohydrate energy and electrolyte drinks.  Energy gels will be available at aid station 3 and 7 during the both the half and full marathon.  There will be portable toilets at each aid station as well as the start and finish areas.  Medical support will be available on the course and at the finish line.

Amenities

All finishers in both races will receive a custom Pensacola Marathon medal.  Refreshments will be available at the finish line for all participants. 

Showers are available for race participants at the Downtown YMCA  410 N. Palafox starting at 8:30 am race day.  Participants will need to show their race number for entry.

Packet Pickup and Late Registration will be Friday and Saturday at Running Wild, 3012 E. Cervantes St.,

• Friday Nov. 12th ...................from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m.
• Saturday Nov. 13th ...............from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

 NO DAY-OF-RACE REGISTRATION

PACKET PICKUP ONLY

• Sunday Nov. 14th..................at the START AREA, 5 a.m. to 6 a.m.

Downtown Courtyard Marriott and Downtown Residence Inn are both within ¼ mile of the start/finish and will have special rates for race participants. Call 850-439-3330 for the Courtyard and 850-432-0202 for the Residence Inn to book your room. 

Race T-Shirts
T-Shirts will be short sleeve technical fiber and will be gender specific.

Awards

Overall awards for both races including overall, masters, grandmasters and senior grandmasters will be awarded individually at the conclusion of each event. Age group awards three deep in five year age groups starting at 18 for the marathon and 13 for the half will be available at the finish area.
